| Gravitational systems is a New York city based engineering firm, founded
in 2000. Our objective is to introduce the world to a new, and highly innovative, power
source, through joint development projects, systems development, licensing, and
direct product sales.
The designs of our systems are based upon the patent pending PEC or Pressure
to Electric Converter. The PEC is
the first of three products that we will introduce over the next 48 months.
General Description of PEC
technology:
PEC technology converts the common movement of vehicles, pedestrians,
or animals into electrical power.
A simple calculation illustrates the value of common movement as a power source.
Every time 25 people take the 300 steps necessary to pass the front of Macys, in New York,
at an average weight of 150 lbs. These few pedestrians will generate over 1,000,000 lbs.
of pressure on the walkway.
A herd of 100 cows, weighing 1400 lbs. each. Would generate 14,000,000 lbs. of
pressure in a 100 step walk from a feeding station to a milking station.
On a busy roadway every 100 cars that run over a manhole cover, considering a 2,000 lb.
car. Will generate 50,000 lbs. of pressure, on the surface and supporting
structures.
The effects of this pressure can be seen in sidewalk and roadway maintenance
requirements.
A fluid based PEC can translate that 1,000,00 lbs. of pressure into a
equal amount of fluid pressure. This type of fluid pressure is converted to
electrical energy in traditional hydropower, and steam power technologies. The PEC
pressurized fluid is then converted into electric power, by a nearby generator.
Mechanical PECs can translate that same 1,000,00 lbs. of pressure into
a stream of DC voltage, using hydro-electric generation. Voltage sufficient for exterior
lighting, signs, and substantial excess power to the local grid.
Another analysis, using 1994 data provided by U.S. EIA. If 10% of
California drivers encountered two 83 watt PECs, in each mile they traveled. They
would collectively generate 3,132 Gw of energy annually. Which is enough energy to
supply the entire electrical needs of over 1 million California citizens. This trend when
taken towards its limits, could replace the power output of Hoover dam. However,
such density would not be currently feasible, but with research both the power output and
the ease of installation will grow rapidly.
These potentials, when combined with the immediate nature, of power supplied by PEC
technology. Makes this technology one that can not be ignored by governmental
authorities for long.
Much of the current controversy about this technology has been about
our claim of gravity as an energy source. Please follow this
link to a short paper, written by Gare Henderson, called Commonsense
which specifically deals with this question.
Specific advantages of PEC technology:
- generates power when and where needed.
- power from the source immediately available for source support.
- requires no fuel.
- green energy, emission free.
- low construction and maintenance cost.
- reduces stress on roadway, walkway and super-structure.
- can be engineered to remove energy from targeted process.
- modular designs can be upgraded as materials improve.
Applications of the PEC technology:
- roadside power generation for construction, lighting, and signs.
- local power feeds to the regional power grid.
- emergency roadway power generation.
- independent power sources for toll booths.
- power sources for nearby communities.
- independent operating power for remote sites.
Current limitations of PEC technology:
- power generation determined by traffic volume.
- requires roadwork at each permanent site.
- systems must be engineered to minimize tripping and slippage.
